SAM - System Requirements for Installing the SAM Program
The basic computer system requirements for installing and running the SAM program are listed below. These are a general guideline. Some slight variation in disk space may occur depending on the type of installation - single computer or network. As with all applications increased computer processor speed and computer memory will improve performance.

Computer/Processor
Each PC running the SAM applications needs to have a 133 MHz or higher processor; a Pentium III (or similar make/model) or higher is recommended.
Operating System
Windows 98, Windows 98 Second Edition, Windows Millennium Edition (Windows ME), Windows NT 4.0 with Service Pack 6 (SP6) or later, Windows 2000, Windows XP, Windows Vista or later.
Memory
RAM requirements vary depending on the operating system running on the computer.
Windows 98 or Windows 98 Second Edition
32 MB of RAM

Windows ME or Microsoft Windows NT
64 MB of RAM

Windows 2000 Professional
64 MB of RAM

Windows XP Professional of Windows XP Home Edition
128 MB of RAM

Disk Space
The SAM application requires 15 Megabytes of space on the computer's hard drive. Additionally, space is required for the program's runtime. The exact amount of space will vary depending on your system configuration and installed components. 40 MB of available hard disk space is recommended for installations of the SAM application.

The initial size of the data storage files is 25 MB in size. The size of the data files will grow as you enter more assessments. The exact size of each assessment can vary depending on what data is being recorded. However, 200 MB of space should easily hold tens of thousands of assessments.
Drive
A CD-ROM drive (to read installation CD, after installation, CD-ROM drive is not needed).
Display
Super VGA (800 x 600) or higher resolution (recommended to properly display applications screens) monitor with 256 color display.
Peripherals
Microsoft Mouse, Microsoft IntelliMouse, or similar/compatible pointing device.
